About
As a Research Associate at FluxLab, I’ve worked directly with 12 landfill operators across Canada as part of national methane emissions studies. Through fieldwork, data collection, and follow-up discussions, I gained first-hand insight into their challenges with emissions monitoring, regulatory compliance, and understanding how to generate carbon offsets. These conversations consistently highlighted a need for simpler, more automated tools that reduce the burden of methane tracking and reporting. In parallel, I analyzed and summarized stakeholder comments submitted in response to Canada’s draft federal landfill methane regulations. This gave me a broader view of industry pain points, including concerns about the complexity of Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV), the cost of compliance, and the lack of accessible tools for carbon credit generation and RNG project planning. I’ve also attended meetings and consultations with operators, vendors, and regulators, which further validated the demand for a platform like Verdomics.
